There are two types and methods of adjusting the stock. Both cases create a Stock Adjustment in the Accounting (Stock Asset account).

2. Adjust Stock in a Location where the Stock is already stored (New Stock, Current Location(s).
Add New Stock to a Location where this stock is not already stored (New Stock, New Location(s))
This type of Stock adjustment is a considered action and a two-stage process.
For example, at Location 1/1 add a Qty of new stock 20 x SKU123.
Go to the Stock Actions Tab
In the Items pane, 'Select' the Stock Item
In the 'Locations' pane select the Location where the stock will be stored
The Qty in the 'Selected Stock' pane will display a Qty of 0
In the Applied Quantity field, enter the quantity of Items you want to adjust e.g. 20
Click 'Adjust' on the 'Selected Stock' pane.
In the modal box (pop up) add a name or a memo to record the reason
The Stock level of SKU123 will be increased by 20.
A Stock Adjustment will be created in the Stock Asset account - the default Profit and Loss expense account is set to 'Stock Write Off'. This is the default setting in the main app Setup>Configuration>Accounts>Default Accounts>Stock Adjustment. You can change this default setting OR go to the resulting Stock Adjustment and edit this transaction to select a new account mapping.
The Stock Adjustment entry will appear in the Stock Asset Account (In the main app)
The Stock Adjustment is editable i.e. the resulting asset value can be manipulated
