# Import Customer Refunds from Cart - Shopify Plugin

Previously, when a refund was issued in Shopify, users had to enter the refund manually into Salesorder. With this new plugin, Shopify refunds will now sync into Salesorder automatically. Please note that this functionality is only available via the plugin and is not part of the standard Salesorder integration.

‘Import Customer Refunds Plugin’ > Install and Register

Must populate these Mandatory Fields:&#x20;

* Cart Name
* Refund Pay from account name: This is the account you will be paying refunds from.&#x20;

Process:&#x20;

1. Create an order in the Shopify cart&#x20;
2. Import as a cash sale&#x20;
3. Create a refund in Shopify with or without tax&#x20;
4. Refund will be imported into Salesorder&#x20;

When the refund is imported, it will appear in the Customer Refunds List.&#x20;

On the Refund:&#x20;

* Status: Paid&#x20;
* Our Ref: Linked to the Cash Sale
* Payment Method: Shopify&#x20;
* ‘Pay from’: this inherits from the ‘Refund Pay from Account’ field on the plugin config.&#x20;

If the refund fails to import from Shopify, an email will be sent to the account email address that is set in the Notification Email field on the cart page. <br>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://helpwith.salesorder.com/shopping-carts-b2c/shopify/import-customer-refunds-from-cart-shopify-plugin.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
